Electro Acoustic Solutions Inc. (EASI) is an Illinois Company with extensive experience in the design, testing and specification of acoustic spaces and sound systems. EASI's expertise has been applied to the acoustic and audio system design of recording studios, broadcast facilities, auditoria, church sanctuaries and personal residences in the US and 10 other countries. The president and principal consultant of EASI is Douglas R. Jones. Mr. Jones has a background in the recording industry as an engineer, chief technician, musician and facility designer. He has been a consultant to the Northwestern University Computer Music Studio where he served as part of the team researching spatial hearing. During his research at N.U. he developed the Listening Environment Diagnostic Recording (LEDR™), the first and only tool for the subjective evaluation of the accuracy of stereo image reproduction. He has taught at the Institute of Audio Research and The Eastman School of Music. Since 1988, he has been a faculty member at Columbia College Chicago where he is the founding Chairman of the Department of Audio Arts and Acoustics. Prof. Jones teaches courses in architectural acoustics, acoustic measurement and audio systems. A member of the Audio Engineering Society (AES) and the Acoustical Society of America (ASA), Mr. Jones has presented papers and workshops at AES, ASA, ICMC, SynAudCon and Advanced TEF training for Crown and Goldline. He is the author of three chapters in the Handbook for Sound Engineers, third edition. In 2006 Mr. Jones was awarded the Heyser TEF award for his contribution to Acoustical Analysis and Education. |
