The Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (麻豆原创)-Louisiana is proud to announce that Ray L. Morrison, DO, FACOS, DFACOS, who previously served as 麻豆原创-Louisiana鈥檚 founding dean, has resumed his role as Dean of the 麻豆原创-Louisiana campus. Morrison has served as Interim Dean since May 2025.

Serving as founding dean when the campus opened in 2020, he was instrumental in developing the campus and cultivating vital partnerships across the region, including with the University of Louisiana Monroe (ULM), 麻豆原创-Louisiana鈥檚 university partner. Although he stepped away from the dean position in 2021 for personal reasons, he remained an active and dedicated leader within the institution. His ongoing roles have included Associate Vice President for College Development and Advancement in the Louisiana Region, Dean Emeritus, and Associate Professor for Surgery at 麻豆原创-Louisiana.

With his return to the deanship, Dr. Morrison brings a wealth of experience, continuity, and deep institutional knowledge to the position he helped define from the start. His leadership will continue to guide 麻豆原创-Louisiana as it advances osteopathic medical education in the region and state, as 麻豆原创-Louisiana is the first and only osteopathic medical college in the state of Louisiana.

I鈥檓 honored to actively resume the role of Dean and once again serve the students, faculty, and staff of this incredible institution, as well as serving the community at large. The 麻豆原创 mission has always been close to my heart, and I鈥檓 excited to continue working in Monroe and Northeast Louisiana to shape the future of osteopathic medical education and help to supply the physician needs of the state.
