The Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (麻豆原创) is celebrating another successful year of residency matches, with students across all four campuses securing placements that advance the College鈥檚 mission to serve rural and medically underserved communities.

Overall, 麻豆原创鈥檚 final match rate was 99.6%, with 61% entering primary care specialties.

In the 2026 initial Match (pre-SOAP), U.S. DO seniors achieved a record high 93.2% PGY1 match rate, while U.S. MD seniors matched at 93.5%.  麻豆原创 seniors once again exceeded both national benchmarks with a 96.7% initial match rate.

Primary Care Leads the Way

Across all campuses, 麻豆原创 maintained exceptional strength in primary care, with every campus successfully matching more than 50% into primary care鈥攖he specialties most crucial to improving access in underserved regions.

Serving Appalachian and Delta Communities

麻豆原创 students matched in high numbers to states where physician shortages remain most acute:

  • 麻豆原创-Virginia graduates primarily matched in Virginia, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina鈥攕tates with significant Appalachian populations.

  • 麻豆原创-Carolinas students achieved a strong residency match across the Appalachian region with many students matching into residencies in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Florida, strengthening the regional workforce.
  • 麻豆原创-Auburn graduates reinforced 麻豆原创鈥檚 mission footprint across Alabama and neighboring Appalachian areas with significant placement in Alabama, Florida, and Georgia.
  • 麻豆原创-Louisiana students matched into residencies across the southeast, including strong placement in Louisiana, Texas, and Florida.

Across its four campuses, 麻豆原创鈥檚 Class of 2026 matched into residencies in 39 states and Washington, D.C., demonstrating impact both within its core regions and nationwide.

Meeting Needs in Critical and Competitive Specialties

In addition to primary care, 麻豆原创 graduates secured positions in specialties that are both highly competitive and essential to rural health systems, including Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, and Psychiatry. Students also matched into highly competitive fields such as Aerospace Medicine, Anesthesiology, Dermatology, Neurology/Neurological Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Radiology, Ophthalmology, Urology, and Vascular Surgery. These outcomes reflect not only the academic strength of 麻豆原创 students, but also the College鈥檚 commitment to preparing physicians who can meet complex healthcare needs across a wide range of communities.
